Cameron Diaz’s ‘Bad Day’ Sets December Netflix Release Date

Netflix has announced the release date for Bad Day, the upcoming action-comedy starring Cameron Diaz. The film, directed by Jake Szymanski, will begin streaming on December 11.

Diaz headlines an ensemble cast that includes Danielle Brooks, Rhenzy Feliz, John Higgins, Mark Duplass, Jessica Belkin, Ed O’Neill, Rob Corddry, Ayden Mayeri, Ben Schwartz, Retta, Emma Pearson, P.J. Byrne, Sherry Cola, Edi Patterson and Beck Bennett.

In Bad Day, Diaz plays a single mother who faces what could be the most difficult day of her life as she works to fulfill a promise she made to her daughter. The film combines comedy and action while following the challenges she encounters throughout the day.

Szymanski, known for Jury Duty, directed the movie from a screenplay written by Laura Solon. Beau Bauman is producing through Good One Productions, while Solon and Mark Moran serve as executive producers. First-look images from the film have also been released.

Diaz is best known for starring in films including There’s Something About Mary and Charlie’s Angels. After taking a decade-long break from leading acting roles, she returned to the screen in Netflix’s 2025 film Back in Action, starring alongside Jamie Foxx.

At the time of her return, Diaz discussed the uncertainty surrounding her future in Hollywood. She explained that she wanted to remain open to both possibilities—continuing to make movies or stepping away again—depending on what felt right for her and her family.

With Bad Day now scheduled for December 11, fans will soon get another opportunity to see Diaz take on a leading role in a Netflix feature.
