Robert Pattinson Returns As Batman As The Batman Part II Begins Production

Robert Pattinson is officially returning as the Caped Crusader in The Batman Part II.

Following the huge success of Superman in 1938, Bob Kane and Bill Finger created Batman, who made his first appearance in Detective Comics #27. Since then, the iconic character has gone through numerous adaptations, evolving from his comic-book origins and the campy television era of the 1960s to the darker and more grounded blockbuster films of today.

After Ben Affleck’s portrayal of the character, fans were left wondering who would next take on one of the world’s most recognizable and beloved superheroes. Pattinson eventually stepped into the role, bringing a darker interpretation of Batman to the big screen.

Pattinson, who rose from smaller independent roles to become a major Hollywood star, is now returning to the role of the world’s greatest detective. In between his other major projects, the actor is once again stepping into the iconic DC role for Matt Reeves’ highly anticipated sequel, The Batman Part II.

Production on the sequel has already begun in the UK, with recent sightings reported in London, England. Eagle-eyed fans have also captured Pattinson’s first moments on set, marking his official return as Batman.

The cast of The Batman Part II includes Sebastian Stan, Scarlett Johansson, Colin Farrell, Brian Tyree Henry, Charles Dance, Sebastian Koch, Andy Serkis, Jeffrey Wright, Jayme Lawson, and Gil Perez-Abraham. However, Reeves has not yet revealed which characters Stan, Johansson, Dance, Koch, and Henry will portray.

Several theories have emerged regarding the new cast members. Stan has been rumored by fans to potentially play Harvey Dent/Two-Face or Victor Zsasz, while theories surrounding Johansson have suggested characters such as Poison Ivy or Vicki Vale. As of now, none of these roles have been officially confirmed. There are also ongoing theories that the Court of Owls could eventually emerge as a major threat in Gotham.

Following several delays, The Batman Part II is currently scheduled to arrive in theaters on February 18, 2028. As Pattinson returns to the role of Batman, fans will have to wait for further updates about the highly anticipated DC sequel and what Reeves has planned for the next chapter of the story.
