Black Panther Cosplay Updates Shuri’s Comic Costume for Live-Action
Shuri becomes Marvel’s new Black Panther in a stunning cosplay from cosplayer CutiePieSensei that brings the hero to life with an incredible costume. In the cosplay, CutiePieSensei becomes the Queen of Wakanda as she sports her look like Black Panther filled with incredible details. Shuri has never looked better, as the costume shows what the character could look like in the role in upcoming MCU and Marvel Comics projects.
Shuri is Wakanda’s technological mastermind as she assisted her brother T’Challa and provided him with his incredible weapons, armour, and upgrades during his time as Black Panther. In the comics, Shuri became Marvel’s new Black Panther following T’Challa’s death, where she would fight on behalf of Wakanda and ultimately help bring her brother back to life. Shuri has appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, played by actress Letitia Wright. The actress has been rumoured to become Marvel’s next Black Panther following the death of Chadwick Boseman – but those rumours have never been confirmed and were made more complicated following controversial anti-vaccination comments from the actress.
On Twitter, @SuperCosplayLo1 recently shared @CutiePieSensei’s Black Panther cosplay, where she becomes the Queen of Wakanda. The look seems to be inspired by both Shuri’s turn as Black Panther in the pages of Marvel Comics and T’Challa’s costume in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The look features a black costume with the Shuri-made Claw Necklace that T’Challa wore as Black Panther. In addition, the cosplay features beautiful makeup, including the tribal paint the hero wears. The outfit also has the fur neck/hood piece Shuri’s Black Panther has in the comics.
It will be fascinating to see if the Marvel Cinematic Universe chooses to adopt a similar costume with Shuri should she become Marvel’s new Black Panther. However, given Wright’s controversial comments, it seems less guaranteed than ever that she will be take up the mantle. Although, it’s still possible, and if the MCU does go that route, the costume worn by CutiePieSensei shows how good Shuri’s Black Panther could look in live-action.
Shuri has one of the coolest Black Panther costumes in the comics. The cosplay by CutiePieSensei smartly combines the look with T’Challa’s Black Panther costume to create something new. The result is a fabulous costume that’s so good that it could be used in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as is. Of course, time will tell if Shuri becomes Black Panther in the MCU, but for now, fans can enjoy the spectacular cosplay.
