‘Reacher’ Readies For Season 2, Drops First Trailer
“Reacher” season two now has an official release date on Amazon Prime Video. Fans of the action series were treated to a first look at the upcoming season as the streaming platform released a trailer on Tuesday.
The show is an adaptation of the Jack Reacher book series written by author Lee Child. Alan Ritchson, known for his roles in “Titans” and “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,” stars as Jack Reacher, a wandering former military policeman who takes on criminals during his travels. Child himself approved of the casting decision.
Season 2 is based on “Bad Luck and Trouble,” the 11th book in Child’s 28-novel series featuring the character. It is scheduled to premiere on December 15 on Prime Video, with new episodes dropping weekly every Friday through January 19, 2024.
“Reacher” was an immediate hit TV series for Amazon when Season 1 was released in February 2022, making it the first Amazon series to top the Nielsen streaming rankings. Fans can catch up on the first season, which is available for streaming on Prime Video.
In season two, Reacher is pulled from his nomadic life by a coded message informing him that a member of the 110th, his elite group of Army Special Investigators, has been murdered. He reunites with some of his former military cohorts to investigate and quickly realizes that the case is more significant than they could have ever imagined. This information is from the trailer description.
The series also features Maria Sten, Serinda Swan, and Shaun Sipos in pivotal roles, with Ferdinand Kingsley, Robert Patrick, and Domenick Lombardozzi also in the cast.
Child’s books were previously adapted into a pair of films, with the first one released in 2012, starring Tom Cruise as Reacher.
