Netflix Announced November’s Date for Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom’s Release

Netflix announced 28 November as a new release date for Chadwick Boseman’s last movie Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom. Netflix earlier, canceled the virtual preview of the following Actor Chadwick Boseman’s death last Friday.

The movie is an adaption of the August Wilson 1982 play of the same name and it will also star Viola Davis. The movie is about a 1920s Chicago based band as they wait for the arrival of their lead singer, Rainey (Davis). As the day progresses, Rainey is going through a conflict with white producers to control rights over her music and additionally, bands aspiring trumpeter Levee (Boseman) who is determined to stake his own claim on the music industry.

Levee spikes the band’s relationship and also trying to score with Ma’s girlfriend. Further, each band member gets caught in the eruption of stories, truths, and lies that are set to change the course of their lives. Boseman has been predicted to be nominated for an Oscar with his role in the movie and this was supposed to be his best performance to date.

Movie Director, George C. Wolfe said that he enjoyed working with Chadwick and his company on the set of Ma Rainey.

Netflix is planning the release of the movie at the time of Thanksgiving and a trailer will surely be out prior to the release of the film.
