The Jurassic World Dominion streaming release date has been announced, and it’s sooner than expected. The sequel to Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, Dominion was initially released theatrically in the United States on June 10. Marked as the conclusion of the entire Jurassic saga, the movie is directed by Colin Trevorrow, who also helmed the initial Jurassic World installment. Since its release, Dominion has raked in over 979 million dollars worldwide at the box office, making it the second highest-grossing film of 2022 so far. An extended version for Jurassic World Dominion was released on August 16 in 4k Ultra HD for Blu-ray and digital editions.

Audiences eagerly awaited Jurassic World Dominion’s release when it was revealed the film would unite two generations of characters in one final monstrous adventure. Jurassic World Dominion takes place four years after the destruction of Isla Nublar resulting in dinosaurs now living alongside humans in a delicate and dangerous arrangement that the heroes now have to traverse. Despite the return of beloved characters like Dr. Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern), Dr. Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum), and Dr. Alan Grant (Sam Neill), the response to the sequel has been overwhelmingly negative, with critics rating it as the worst film in the entire Jurassic franchise. Disappointed in the story, pacing, and overall action of the film, there are very few positive reviews for Jurrasic World Dominion.

Jurassic World Dominion will begin streaming on September 2 on Peacock in both the theatrical and extended editions. The film will come to the NBCUniversal platform relatively fast, less than three months after its theatrical release. For comparison, another Universal property, Top Gun: Maverick, which was released before Jurassic World Dominion, has no announced streaming release date as of this writing.

What’s more, on September 1, the Jurassic Park trilogy will also come to Peacock just one day before Jurassic World Dominion stomps down. For fans of the Jurassic franchise, the platform will now host four of the movies from the series, guaranteeing no shortage of dinosaur-related content. However, it is unclear when Jurassic World and Jurassic World: the Fallen Kingdom will join the streamer to complete the collection.

The Jurassic franchise has astounded and enthralled viewers for nearly 30 years with the horror of dinosaurs coming to life with realistic special effects. The final installment may have disappointed some, yet many still considered it a fun summer blockbuster. Jurassic World Dominion may be coming to Peacock sooner than expected due to the movie’s poor critical response, but there is no denying the sequel was a financial success for Universal. With Jurassic World Dominion being the finale, or assumed finale of the Jurassic franchise, fans now can look forward to experiencing the extended cut from the comfort of their home.
