Carnaval – Netflix’s new Brazilian comedy featuring Holiday Fun

Netflix is coming up with yet another raunchy comedy about four friends at the carnival holiday titled ‘Carnaval’ and it is set to release on June 2. Carnaval is produced by Camisa Listrada production in partnership with Netflix. The story has been written by Lipy Adler with Audemir Leuzinger and Luisa Mascarenhas working on the screenplay. The movie will be directed by Leandro Neri who has also contributed to the script.

The movie is set in Salvador where Four best friends are spending their time in the middle of a carnival holiday. Certainly seems like a dream as it gives the best look at the biggest party of the year. The story surrounds Nina played by Giovana Cordeiro, an aspiring digital influencer who discovers her boyfriend’s betrayal through a viral video on social media. Nina wins an all-inclusive trip to Salvador, Bahia as she starts working to get her first million followers and eager to become famous. As she travels to Salvador, she is accompanied by her inseparable friends Michele (GKay), Vivi (Samya Pascotto), and Mayra (Bruna Inocencio).

The trio joining Nina is full of fun and characteristics – Michele is the most sincere friend and who has been dating a lot of boys; Vivi is the geek of the group who for the first time away from her games and series and is set for the lifetime experience and delights of carnival; and Mayra is the most spiritualized one. The trio has been with Nina since childhood and now they all need to overcome their fears and anxieties and as the movie progresses, everyone will discover that the individuality of each one makes this group so inseparable.

The movie is the comic ride of all-female leads featuring some of the sexiest moments as all four of them are having the time of their lives. In addition to the protagonists, the movie features Flavia Pavanelli as the superstar influencer Luana – an inspiration for Nina and who will ‘advise’ her in the search for more followers and engagement. The movie will also see talents like Micael Borges, Jean Pedro, Nikolas Antunes and Rafael Medrado.
