Avatar 2 Shares A Collage of Set Photos
The imaginative minds behind James Cameron’s upcoming Avatar 2 just shared a collage of tiny set photos. The highly foreseen sequel to Cameron’s 2009 groundbreaking movie, Avatar, has been in creation for almost ten years now, initially declared back in 2010. The sequel was attempting for a 2014 release, however, it saw substantial delays to allow the crew more time to formulate new technology for the special effects and to function on the story’s writing. Avatar 2 has completed filming and is now scheduled to premiere on December 16, 2022.
Cameron has three extra sequels already planned for the Avatar franchise, fetching a total of five films. While not vastly is currently known about the extra sequels, the assumption of Avatar 2 is said to revolve around Jake Sully and Neytiri shaping a family and doing whatever it accepts to stay together. For unknown reasons, they are forced to leave their home and examine the several lands of Pandora. Recently released Avatar 2 theory art has implied one of those new regions, which is a stormy Pandoran sea. Now a new collection of photos may reveal more about the impending sequel.
Shared by the Avatar Instagram handle, the imaginative minds behind Avatar 2 posted a collage of set photos. The post is devoted to the movie’s New Zealand crew and the entire NZ film industry, declaring openly that it’s “proud to call NZ home for the live-action filming across all of the Avatar movies.”
While the photo itself doesn’t disclose any new data about Avatar 2, it does show some behind the scenes snaps of the crew working on the movie, who are all established in New Zealand. Filming in New Zealand for Avatar 2 and 3 began in Spring of 2019 and began for a short break on November 29 of that year. Unfortunately, on March 17, 2020, it was declared that filming for the Avatar sequels would be suspended indefinitely due to the growing COVID-19 pandemic in New Zealand and the rest of the world. Filming was scheduled to commence in June of 2020, and in September of that same year, Cameron verified the live-action filming in New Zealand had been completed.
The posted collage photo is in honour of the hard-working crew behind the Avatar series. The post has already collected over 2,000 likes with statements from fans thanking the crew for all of their work, which is good to see, particularly considering the tremendous amount of work that went into the film. Established on the success of the first movie, there is no doubt that Avatar 2 will be a big film when it’s released. Photos like the one above are an enormous way to thank the people who don’t always receive the recognition they earn.
