Wheel of Time Trailer: Rosamund Pike is Staving off The End of the World
The latest trailer for Prime Video’s The Wheel of Time series has arrived. Based on the fantasy saga by prolific author Robert Jordan, The Wheel of Time spans 14 novels and follows in the vein of great works like JRR Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings trilogy. The Wheel of Time follows a group of youths from a small village called Emond’s Field, Rand, Mat, Perrin, Egwene, and Nynaeve. Unbeknownst to them, they will be wrapped up in eons spanning prophecy that will anoint one of them the Dragon Reborn.
They will be led by Rosamund Pike’s Moiraine Sedai, a member of a matriarchal magical order that is both feared and revered in the World of the Wheel. The Wheel of Time season 1 will adapt elements of various books in the saga, but what those could remain a mystery. One thing is clear, though – Prime Video is banking on the series to be a Game of Thrones-sized hit and the latest trailer proves it.
Prime Video unveiled the new Wheel of Time trailer today. The video begins with Moiraine taking the Aes Sedai oath before quickly showing off the scale of the massive series. While it gives some background about the Dragon Reborn prophecy at the center of the events of the series, it also takes time to show off various characters wielding magic and fighting against the Dark One’s minions, including the terrifying trollocs.
Prime Video continues to show just how grand The Wheel of Time will be – from its magic-wielding characters to the sweeping locations, comparisons to past fantasy series are inevitable. What sets the series apart, though, is its intricate story and compelling cast of characters. Wheel of Time doesn’t need to be Game of Thrones and on some level, Prime Video understands that.
Still, there’s no better way to promote the show than showing off just how epic it will be. With Wheel of Time season 1 premiering in a few short weeks and the cast and crew hard at work on season 2, there will be plenty of time to bring in die-hard fans of the novels and newcomers to the World of the Wheel alike. Once they find out just how epic the show is, it may become hard to resist checking out The Wheel of Time
