A new trailer for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings has been broadcasted. Starring Simu Liu as Marvel’s Master of Kung-Fu, Shang-Chi is next up on the MCU’s Phase 4 dramatic slate. It will be the first since 2019’s Captain Marvel to launch a new hero to the franchise and it will make history with the first Asian superhero to dominate a Marvel film. In addition to Liu, Shang-Chi stars Michelle Yeoh, Awkwafina, Tony Leung, Fala Chen, and Florian Munteanu. Benedict Wong will also be duplicating his role as Wong, the magicians closely associated with Doctor Strange.

Shang-Chi’s second trailer also showed that Abomination will be occurring in some capability after he is seen battling Wong at the end of the clip. The film itself will commemorate Liu’s character as he meets his past with the mysterious Ten Rings organization and its leader – The Mandarin – who is also his father. Iron Man 3 controversially grabbed a fake-out with the iconic Marvel character, shaping Ben Kingsley in the role of The Mandarin before disclosing that he wasn’t The Mandarin at all.

Currently, a new trailer for Shang-Chi from Marvel shows the fight between Shang-Chi and his father, as both are observed utilizing the power of the Ten Rings in the clip. First, though, the clip takes some time to organize Shang-Chi’s connection with Awkwafina’s Katy, showing him before one of his sessions in the fighting ring. The trailer also shows some bits of history, teasing the Ten Rings being used by The Mandarin in history. Finally, the clip ends with Shang-Chi nailing his superhero landing and instructing him to face off against his father.

The recent trailer for Shang-Chi may be brief, but it includes a lot of action that has yet to be seen in other promos that have been published. More of Shang-Chi’s fight with Razor Fist in the city roads can be seen, with Liu’s character eventually hitting him off as the bus they are on breaks in half. It also hypes up the fight between Shang-Chi and his father in what is the climax of the film.

That fight seems to be over the Ten Rings, the nominal organization and the weapons behind it. Since there is so much contradiction surrounding the film and previous iterations of the Ten Rings in both the MCU and the Marvel comics themselves, there’s no saying what’s in store for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. With a small over a month to go until the film’s release, those contradictions will soon be revealed and as the type begins again to grow for Shang-Chi, it can’t come soon enough.
