Causeway
Storyline – The story revolves around the tragic incident happened with Lynsey ( Jennifer Lawrence) an army worker. After the injury she suffered she moved back to her homeland for recovery. While going under medications she lost her confidence on being a skilled driver. She looses the charm within her and thrives to go back and join the army but she gets no support for so until she completely heals herself.
The most highlighted dialogue in the film was – There is a difference between trauma and depression just like the difference between she wants to join back army or should she go back and join it.
Lynsey tries out her best to survive each day working hard. She started driving but couldn’t make it out. The trauma she had after the injury overshadowed her confidence, her all the perfection of going back to the army.
She went to her home , alone spent days and nights over there, spent her time in cleaning surroundings nearby. But her life takes a turn when she meets James Aucoin ( Brian Tyree) while sitting alone at a park in night.
He asks her if she’s good and okay and their friendship begins. He builds and boosts up the same old confidence in Lynsey. Helps her in driving like before and more importantly brings back her old smile and charm.
Review – An Apple TV supported and featuring Toronto Film festival – Causeway is a silent Drama. Jennifer Lawrence has mind-blowing acting as always and Brian Tyree is seen as a good supporting actor.
The film shows how trauma can be overcome before it reaches to the edge of depression. Direction was pretty good and perfectly navigated as per the concept of the story. The quite traumatized and the positive charming character of Jennifer Lawrence and Brian Tyree made an entertaining combination giving a good approach towards healing happily. Nevertheless, a must watch!.
