Michael Connelly Confirms The Lincoln Lawyer Season 5 Premiere

The Lincoln Lawyer Season 5

Netflix’s legal drama The Lincoln Lawyer is preparing to return for its fifth and final season, with a March 2027 premiere window now revealed by author Michael Connelly.

Netflix initially renewed the series in January before confirming in May 2026 that the upcoming fifth season would bring the show to an end. Based on Michael Connelly’s popular Mickey Haller novel series, which currently includes eight books and continues to grow, the television adaptation premiered in May 2022. Since its debut, the series has maintained strong viewership and critical recognition. Now, the courtroom drama is approaching its final chapter.

While promoting his latest Harry Bosch novel, The Hollow, released on October 27, Connelly shared additional information about the television adaptation during a question-and-answer session in Spokane, Washington. According to The Spokesman-Review, the author, who also serves as an executive producer on the series, revealed that The Lincoln Lawyer Season 5 is scheduled to premiere on Netflix in March 2027.

The upcoming season will arrive just over a year after Season 4 concluded in February 2026. Led by co-showrunners Ted Humphrey and Dailyn Rodriguez, the final season will feature 10 episodes, bringing Mickey Haller’s story to its conclusion.

The Lincoln Lawyer Season 5 Story Details

Netflix has confirmed that Season 5 will draw inspiration from Michael Connelly’s 2023 novel Resurrection Walk. The story will follow Mickey Haller as he takes on a challenging case after receiving a request from Emi Finch, his previously unknown half-sister. She asks him to help secure the release of a woman who has been wrongfully convicted.

As Mickey investigates the case, he will face dangerous developments while uncovering hidden secrets about his family. Meanwhile, the people closest to him, including Lorna, Izzy, and Cisco, will encounter difficult situations of their own.

Returning Cast and New Additions

Manuel Garcia-Rulfo will return as defense attorney Mickey Haller. The main returning cast also includes Becki Newton, Jazz Raycole, and Angus Sampson. Cobie Smulders, who first appeared as Emi Finch in the Season 4 finale, has been promoted to a series regular for the final season.

Several familiar faces are also confirmed to return as recurring guest stars. These include Neve Campbell, Krista Warner, Angelica Maria, and Gigi Zumbado.

In addition, Netflix has announced 14 new recurring guest stars joining the series for its final season. The newcomers are Chris Diamantopoulos, Corbin Bernsen, Diane Guerrero, Iker Garcia, Patty Guggenheim, Richard Cabral, Steve Howey, Teresa Maria, Amy Aquino, Angela Trimbur, Elpidia Carrillo, Nate Corddry, Tricia Helfer, and Keir O’Donnell.

Netflix Has Yet to Announce the Exact Premiere Date

Although Connelly has revealed March 2027 as the expected premiere month, Netflix has not yet announced an official release date for Season 5. Production reportedly wrapped in July 2026, meaning the streaming platform may share further details about the final season, including its release schedule and upcoming episode previews, in the coming months.

Could The Lincoln Lawyer Continue Beyond Season 5?

Although Mickey Haller’s journey in the main series is coming to an end, the franchise could potentially continue on Netflix through a spin-off.

Reports from August 2026 indicated that Netflix was developing the first spin-off series from The Lincoln Lawyer, reportedly centered on Mickey’s half-sister Emi Finch, who works as a detective. The project’s script is reportedly being developed by original series showrunners Ted Humphrey and Dailyn Rodriguez.

However, Netflix has not officially confirmed the spin-off project. For now, viewers can look forward to the fifth season as the final chapter of Mickey Haller’s story in the main series, expected to arrive in March 2027.
