Rebecca Ferguson and Andrew Garfield’s fantasy adventure The Magic Faraway Tree is now available to watch at home.
Both actors have experience starring in major movie franchises. Ferguson appeared in three Mission: Impossible films between 2015 and 2023 and played a major role in Denis Villeneuve’s Dune trilogy, while Garfield became known for playing Peter Parker in Marc Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man films before returning to the role in Marvel’s Spider-Man: No Way Home in 2021.
The two actors have now joined forces for The Magic Faraway Tree, which has officially made its way to digital platforms.
Almost six months after its theatrical release, The Magic Faraway Tree is now available to rent or purchase digitally. The movie became available on platforms including Apple TV, Fandango, and Prime Video on September 22, with digital rentals and purchases starting at $19.99.
Directed by Ben Gregor and written by Simon Farnaby, the movie is based on the beloved children’s books by Enid Blyton. The story centers on a modern family that moves to the remote English countryside. There, the children discover a mysterious magical tree inhabited by a collection of unusual characters. As they climb higher into the tree, they are transported to a series of fantastical worlds.
Alongside Ferguson and Garfield, the cast features Claire Foy, Delilah Bennett-Cardy, Phoenix Laroche, Billie Gadsdon, Nicola Coughlan, Nonso Anozie, Jessica Gunning, Jennifer Saunders, Dustin Demri-Burns, Mark Heap, Oliver Chris, Jos Vantyler, Lenny Henry, Michael Palin, Simon Russell Beale, Hiran Abeysekera, Pippa Bennett-Warner, Simon Farnaby, Claire Keelan, Ramon Tikaram, and Judi Dench.
The Magic Faraway Tree opened in UK theaters on March 27 before expanding to the United States on August 21. The film has earned approximately $35 million worldwide. In May, it was also announced that two sequels were in development, with production expected to begin in 2027.
With two follow-up films already in development, The Magic Faraway Tree could become the beginning of a larger fantasy adventure series. For now, audiences can experience the first movie from the comfort of home.
